UW Seattle Commencement Day Rehearsal Reminder to all commencement and college marshals: Rehearsal will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 11 in the Don James Center.

What To Do When You Leave The UW

Parking permits and U-PASSes are the property of the UW and are not transferable. When you leave the University or no longer need a parking permit, return your unexpired permit/U-PASS to Parking Services for a refund. If you retain an unexpired U-PASS/permit, you are financially responsible for it even if you do not use it.

Faculty or staff who are temporarily leaving the UW campus may find it financially beneficial to stop and restart a parking permit or a U-PASS. Check the timing of your stop and restart dates so they coincide with the Parking Services’ billing cutoff dates—the 15th and the last workday of the month. Otherwise you will be charged until the next cutoff date.

The information below can help you decide if you will benefit from stopping and restarting your permit/U-PASS. For more information, call Parking Services at 685-1543 or send e-mail to parking@u.washington.edu.

  • Parking area assignments will be retained for permit holders who are returning their permits while temporarily leaving campus. If you paid for your permit by cash or check, you will receive a pro-rated refund on the unused portion. Please note, no refunds are made on quarterly U-PASSes.
  • If you pay for your annual permit/U-PASS by payroll deduction, the payment is deducted twice a month on the cutoff billing dates, the 15th and the last workday of the month. You are responsible for the fee for the entire period if you possess the permit/U-PASS for any portion of that period.
  • When you return your annual permit and/or U-PASS sticker and complete the stop deduction form, your payroll deduction will be terminated as follows:
  • If the permit/U-PASS is returned between the first and 15th of the month, the last deduction shown on your pay check stub will appear on the 25th.

If the permit/U-PASS is returned between the 16th and the end of the month, the last deduction shown on your paycheck stub will appear on the 10th of the following month. For additional information on a variety of parking topics including the “Tip of the Month,” see http://www.washington.edu/admin/parking/.
