Board of Regents
The UW Board of Regents will hold a regular public meeting at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20, in the Walker-Ames Room of Kane Hall. The Regents will meet in formal session to take official action on personnel appointments and changes, gifts and grants, contracts and agreements with outside agencies and other University business.

Environmental Health and Safety
Environmental Health and Safety will offer the following free safety classes to University personnel. Preregistration is required. Call 543-7201 to register, for departmental training, or to be added to the mailing list.

  • Earthquake/Disaster Preparedness: 9-10:30 a.m., Friday, July 23, Hall Health 301B.
  • Forklift Safety Refresher Training: 8:30-10 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 3, T-474A Health Sciences Center
  • Managing Laboratory Chemicals and Spill Cleanup: 1:30-3 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 5, T-473, Health Sciences Center.

    Puget Sound Blood Center
    Nondonating Volunteers Needed: Puget Sound Blood Center has volunteer opportunities available at the University Health Sciences Building blood drives on Aug. 13, Aug. 20 and Sept. 3 between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. Volunteers are needed to register donors, to monitor them and serve them refreshments after they’ve given blood. If you are unable to donate blood yourself, this is another great way to help maintain the community blood supply throughout the summer.
