EPA awards $8.2 million for particulate pollution center Leonard Hudson named to Endowed Chair in Pulmonary Disease Research Heart Walk event this Saturday Neurological Assn. meeting in Seattle October 10-13
UW Physicians fall ad campaign begins next week The UW Physicians fall advertising campaign is scheduled to begin the week of Oct. 11 and run through the end of November, a period that corresponds with open enrollment for state employees. Using the tag line Trust in Knowledge, each of the new ads contains a statement that is unique to UWMC, Harborview Medical Center or UW Physicians. The overall concept is to remind the public of the kinds of factors that make our institutions so special things that no other health-care provider can claim, said John Coulter, associate vice president for medical affairs and chair of the UW Academic Medical Center Marketing Committee. The ads emphasize many of the factors that research shows are most important to consumers when choosing a health-care provider: trust, dedication, compassion, experience, understanding and caring. Some of the ads also feature things UW physicians are doing that show their personal commitment to the larger community in which they live and work. This is the first campaign produced for the UW Academic Medical Center by its new agency, Publicis. The ads will appear in local newspapers, on radio and on local transit. ¶ University Week The faculty and staff publication of the University of Washington uweek@u.washington.edu October 7, 1999
