Grants and Funding Information Service holds open house

The Grants and Funding Information Service (GFIS) is beginning its fifth year of providing grantseeking assistance to UW faculty, staff and graduate students. To introduce new users to its services, GFIS will be holding an open house from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 25, in the 5th-Floor West conference room of Suzzallo Library. Faculty and staff are invited to drop by for refreshments, informal discussion and an informational talk about GFIS’ materials, online resources and grantseeking support.

GFIS is a cooperative project of the UW Libraries, the Graduate School and the Office of Research. Serving University of Washington faculty, staff and graduate students in the arts, sciences and humanities (employees in social work and the health sciences should contact the Research Funding Service at (685-8036), GFIS brings together resources and information that help identify funding opportunities for research and other projects related to university activities. A detailed outline of GFIS services can be found at their Web page, http://www.lib.washington.edu/gfis/. For more information about GFIS and the Open House, please contact Lorena O’English or Barbara Wetzel at 616-3083 or gfis@u.washington.edu. ¶
