University of Washington Law Professor Louis Wolcher recently won a $15,800 prize for his essay Times Language. The international competition attracted almost 2,500 writers from around the world.

This 28-foot long cast of a 10,000-year-old crocodile has been mounted at the UWs Allen Library. The Late Pleistocene croc is on loan from the Burke Museum. It will reside on the wall of the Allen Library South Wing entry foyer of the Natural Sciences library.
