Untitled Sculpture
This untitled sculpture is part of the Jacob Lawrence Gallery’s latest exhibit, featuring the work of UW art students. This sculpture was designed by Paul A. Metivier, a ceramics major.

Former President Jimmy Carter, above, speaks to Daniel J. Evans School of Public Affairs students, faculty and staff as Evans looks on. Carter decried America’s “stingy” record on foreign aid during the Jan. 19 reception in Parrington Hall, imploring students to spend some time on humanitarian work before settling down to a career. In a more formal presentation at Town Hall, below, Carter discusses global human rights and progress with Hubert Locke, Evans School dean and professor emeritus. Carter’s Seattle visit was sponsored by The Progress Project, an initiative of the Evans School and the Glaser Family Foundation.
