Health and Safety Committees named

Elections are over and the members of the 2000/2001 Health and Safety Committees are ready to serve the University community as a forum for employee concerns about health and safety in the workplace for the next two years. They also will also review and evaluate accident investigation reports, health and safety inspections, and health and safety plans.

Last year’s activities involved a return to work policy, special safety training classes for supervisors, an evacuation warden plan for Magnuson Health Sciences Center, variance proposal for eyewash facilities, health and safety plans, better communications between UW service organizations, workstation ergonomics and hospital lift teams.

A list of organizational units and their group associations is available on the EH&S home page at http://www.ehs.washington.edu under “Safety Committees,” or by calling the EH&S office at (206) 543-7388.
