‘Step Into the Future’ is theme for Open House 2000

“Open House 2000: Step Into the Future” has been selected as the theme for this spring’s Health Sciences Open House, set for Friday, April 7, and Saturday, April 8.

“The theme and its accompanying graphics invite visitors to come inside the Health Sciences Center, walk the tour path and see for themselves how advances in research and technology are changing health care - now and in the future,” said Dr. Susanna Cunningham, honorary Open House chair. Cunningham is professor of biobehavioral nursing and health systems in the School of Nursing.

A general exhibitor meeting will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 8 at 2:30 p.m. in room D-209 in the Health Sciences Building. Brief presentations will be made by the Health Sciences Center for Educational Resources, the Physical Plant unit and Classroom Services on the services and products they have available to create an effective, memorable exhibit. Exhibitors are encouraged to RSVP to Sharon Brown, Open House coordinator, at sharb@u.washington.edu by Friday, Feb. 4.

The deadline for exhibitor applications has been extended to Feb. 4, so an accurate count of exhibitors is not yet available, said Brown, who works in Health Sciences News and Community Relations.

“A large number of applications have been submitted, so we look forward to a successful event,” she said. “The quality of exhibits proposed is really remarkable, with many interactive and high-tech exhibits, as well as exhibits from units that haven’t participated before.”

If you have questions about Open House 2000, call Brown at 221-7745. ¶
