TOP COP SEARCH: The University is doing its bit to help the City of Seattle find a new police chief. William Bradford, professor and past dean of the UW School of Business Administration, has been named chair of the search committee by Mayor Paul Schell. Also serving on the committee is Betty Jane Narver, director of the Institute for Public Policy and Management in public affairs. Introduced at a news conference, Bradford described a five-month search process that will include input from the City Council and members of the community through public forums. The committee will choose three finalists for the mayor to interview, with the final selection expected in June. ¶ KUDOS: Chris Boe, a security guard at the UW Medical Center, has been named employee of the year by the UW Police Department . . . Creative Writing Professor David Wagoner won a Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association Award for his poetry collection Traveling Light.
