Bill Bradley
UW President Richard McCormick, left, greets Democratic presidential candidate Bill Bradley as Bradley arrives for his speech in the HUB Auditorium last week. Flanking Bradley are Paulette Mitchell, president of the Evans Student Organization and Marc Lindenberg, dean of the Evans School of Public Affairs. The school sponsored the lecture, which focused on education.

Cellphone Comic
University of Washington Bioengineering Professor Henry Lai continues to be in the news with research showing that rats exposed to microwave radiation similar to that given off by cellular telephones suffered long-term memory loss. One of the latest bits of coverage to make it back to Seattle was this cartoon, which ran in the Charlotte Observer in North Carolina. Stories on Lai’s findings have appeared in media outlets ranging from The New York Times to Cosmopolitan magazine, but Lai called this one the most fun so far.
