Hill, a professor of law, social policy and women’s studies at Brandeis University, will speak at 5 p.m. in 130 Kane about what she calls the universal principles that people can adopt to advance social justice and effect positive social change. In 1991, Hill became a national figure when she accused then-Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas of sexual harassment during Thomas’ confirmation hearings.

The social work facilities will be dedicated at 6:30 p.m. in the school’s new third-floor multipurpose room. University President Richard L. McCormick and social work Dean Nancy Hooyman will make brief remarks.

The $2.3 million addition includes about 9,800 square feet of office and meeting room space.

“This addition will provide the school with critically needed faculty and staff offices, additional meeting space and a beautiful, state-of-the-art multipurpose room that will be used for community and special events,” said Hooyman.

Hill’s speech is open to the campus community, but tickets are required and may be obtained by calling 543-3839. ¶
