THAT’S SERVICE: When psychology professor John Gottman was being interviewed about his marital research last week, a Los Angeles radio talk show host asked if he had seen the movie The Story of Us, which portrays a troubled marriage. When Gottman said he hadn’t, the host asked him to check out the movie and appear on the show again. Gottman agreed and the next day gave his insights into the conflicted Michelle Pfeiffer-Bruce Willis celluloid marriage.

WEBMASTER PLAN: The UW Campus Master Plan unveiled a new Web site recently and within two business days had almost 150 “hits.” Joshua Gurnee, an intern on the Master Plan project, created the new site. “The Web site is part of the public process, so we wanted it to be accessible,” Gurnee said. “It presents the in-progress work to the public in such a way that they can really see what’s going on. The whole process is there for the public.” Gurnee said it was the first Web site he’s created. It can be found at http://www.washington.edu/community/cmp/cmp.html and Gurnee said it’s best viewed with newer browsers.

MORE WEB NEWS: The UW Retirement Association announces its new Web site at http://www.washington.edu/admin/uwra. The site includes information about the association’s events, scholarships, membership and many committees. It also includes the Health Affairs Report that contains information for healthy aging; and the Retiree Report, the association’s newsletter.

MUSIC FOR FOOD: Music Professor Helen Callus will perform in a City Music concert at 8 p.m. April 1 in Town Hall, Eighth and Seneca. The noted violist, teaming with pianist Rachel Matthews, will play Schumann’s Fairy Tales, opus 113, Rebecca Clarke’s Sonata and Shostakovich’s Sonata for Viola and Piano. City music is a new nonprofit organization whose performances each benefit a local charity. Callus’ performance will benefit the University District Food Bank.
