Discussion of merit opens next installment of conversation The Conversation About the Future returns from spring break Monday. The series of Conversation events, initiated by President Richard L. McCormick during his October address to the University community, continues with What is Merit? And Does It Matter in Any Event? The panel discussion is sponsored by the Presidents Advisory Committee on Diversity. The panel is set for Monday, April 10 in 106B of the HUB. It will run from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Pedro Noguera, a professor in the graduate school of education at Harvard University, headlines the panel. Noguera is a distinguished scholar on education policy in urban environments. He will be leading a discussion on merit and its place in academia. Panel respondents include UW professors James Soto Antony, education; and Angela Ginorio, women studies; and W.W.
