Silver Award to honor School of Medicine family practice efforts

The UW School of Medicine has earned a Silver Achievement Award from the American Academy of Family Physicians.

The award recognizes the school’s outstanding efforts to encourage student interest in family practice. During a three-year period ending October 1999, an average of 25.9 percent of UW medical school graduates entered American Council of Graduate Medical Education-accredited family practice residencies.

The award will be presented May 5 during the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine Annual Spring Conference in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. ¶
