The UW School of Medicine has earned a Silver Achievement Award from the American Academy of Family Physicians. The award recognizes the schools outstanding efforts to encourage student interest in family practice. During a three-year period ending October 1999, an average of 25.9 percent of UW medical school graduates entered American Council of Graduate Medical Education-accredited family practice residencies.
