
UIF Round 3 open for proposals
Round 3 of the University Initiatives Fund has begun. A letter from Provost Lee L. Huntsman calling for proposals and providing detailed guidelines was sent today to deans, directors and chairs. Proposals will be accepted according to the following schedule:
Interdisciplinary, Cross-unit Proposals (60 percent of the fund)
Oct. 31-Pre-proposals due to dean, vice president or vice provost
Dec. 15-Pre-proposals due to provost
March 1, 2001-Notification of those asked to submit full proposals
April 30, 2001-Full proposals due to provost
June 1, 2001-Announcement of winners
Within-Unit Proposals (40 percent of the fund)
Deadlines and procedures established by dean, vice president or vice provost
Unit proposals may be submitted to the provost by deans, vice presidents and vice provosts at any time, up to a final deadline of Dec. 14, 2001. Project start dates for within-unit initiatives will fall between July 1, 2001 and July 1, 2002. Allow six months between submission to the provost and project start date.
