SEX& VIOLENCE: The Washington Sea Grant Program and UW assistant professor of zoology Julia Parrish have received a Silver Medal in the national Circle of Excellence Awards Program sponsored by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) for “Sex and Violence on Tatoosh Island,” a series of nine photo-illustrated field reports from an uninhabited landmass on the Washington coast. Describing Parrish’s Sea Grant-funded research on endangered seabirds, the reports appeared on the Internet Web site of ABC News last summer. The report is available at http://abcnews.go.com/sections/science/DailyNews/tatooshisland1_990714.html.
