Waddell has been a UW Medical Center employee since 1992, most recently as director of Patient Care Services. From 1994 to 1997 she was director of Rehabilitation Services and from 1992 to 1996 she managed the occupational therapy and therapeutic recreation units. Since 1993 she has held a School of Medicine appointment as a clinical assistant professor and she has also served on several Washington State government advisory committees on rehabilitation services and rehabilitation trauma designation.

She came to the UW from San Gabriel Valley Medical Center in California, where she managed an occupational therapy program. Before that, she was director of occupational therapy for the Department of Psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Houghton College in New York and a master’s degree in occupational therapy from Boston University in 1984.

“I’m very excited about the opportunity to work at another level of the Academic Medical Center,” Waddell said.

Her office is in C-314 of the Health Sciences Building; her phone is 543-7202 and her e-mail is waddell@u.washington.edu.
