Popular game show readying for college championships at UW

Students compete for a chance to appear in the collegiate Jeopardy! in a tent pitched on Red Square.

More than 1,000 college students participated in the Jeopardy! contestant search Aug. 4 and 5 on Red Square. Winners, who will be notified by Friday, will participate in the college championship next month, also at UW.

Host Alex Trebek and Jeopardy! will be in Seattle to tape the college championship at Meany Hall on Friday, Sept. 15 and Saturday, Sept. 16. There are two ways to win tickets to one of the four taping sessions:

• Go to any participating Bartell Drugs and pick up an entry form. Entries must be individually mailed and postmarked no later than Aug. 28.

• Submit entries on-line. Go to http://www.komotv.com and click on “Jeopardy in Seattle.” Entries submitted on-line must be received no later than 5 p.m. on Aug. 28.

Winners will receive their tickets by Saturday, Sept. 9.

Jeopardy! will be featured at the UW vs. Miami football game Sept. 9 in Husky Stadium. The college championship will air Nov. 8 at 7:30 p.m. on KOMO. ¶
