Sellick named acting director for UWMC

Dr. Paul Ramsey, vice president for medical affairs and dean of the School of Medicine, has named Kathleen Sellick acting executive director of UW Medical Center, effective immediately.

Sellick joined the UW in January 1999 as UWMC’s associate executive director and chief operating officer. She had been executive vice president and chief operating officer of St. Joseph Hospital in Orange, Calif., for four years before coming to the UW.

A nationwide search is under way for a successor to UWMC Executive Director Rob Muilenburg, who died Sept. 20.
