Service award nominations sought

Nominations are now being accepted for the UW Outstanding Public Service Award, which honors University faculty and staff who improve the quality of life locally, nationally or internationally through public service. The award includes a $5,000 stipend.

To submit a nomination, write a two-page letter giving a description of the nature, extent and impact of the candidate’s service, the period in which the activity occurred and a description of the effort involved and whether the nominee received compensation for the activity. Three additional one-page letters of support can be included.

The award may be for social, cultural, civic, education-related or health-related achievements. It may be given for uncompensated consulting work within one’s area of expertise or for volunteer work outside one’s area of expertise. Nominations should be sent to the Outstanding Public Service Award Committee, Office of the President, Box 351230. The deadline for submission is Jan. 31.
