UW Bothell gets MBA program
The UW Board of Regents recently approved the renaming of the UW Bothells Master of Management Program to the MBA.
The MBA Program is a two-year evening degree program (with a three-year option) that offers mid-career professionals needed skills. The program was developed in collaboration with representatives from leading regional businesses operating in the software, telecommunications, biotechnology and high-tech manufacturing sectors to serve the north and east Puget Sound area. The MBA Program is accredited by the International Association for Management Education.
Four courses have been added to the Master of Management curriculum to meet MBA standards: management information systems, electronic commerce, financial reporting and analysis and new venture creation. Students who recently graduated or who are in the Master of Management Program will be able to take the additional courses in order to earn the MBA.
We are excited about the change to the MBA Program, said Stan Slater, director of the Business Program at Bothell. The quality of our MBA will enhance individuals knowledge and skills, which will enable them to advance the vision and goals of their organizations.
The Bothell program focuses on preparing individuals for careers in technology-oriented businesses. The UW Business School in Seattle kicked off its own 18-month MBA program with a high-tech spin in January. The Technology Management MBA is offered to working professionals in the biotech, computer science and e-business field. Classes are on Monday evenings in the Seafirst Executive Center and on five Saturdays per quarter at the UW Continuing Education Center in Bellevue.
