Seahawks flocking to UW campus
The Seahawk season - or more properly, its preseason, begins this Saturday in Husky Stadium. The Seahawks are playing their second and final season on campus before moving into the new stadium being built for them on the site of the now-demolished Kingdome.
The team will play two Saturday games - Aug. 18 and Sept. 1 - and eight Sunday games - Sept. 16 and 23; Oct. 7, 14 and 28; Nov. 11; and Dec. 2 and 16 - in Husky Stadium.
The most visible impact of the football games will be on parking. According to Parking Services, signs in the parking lots will alert the campus community of the dates of upcoming games and remind campus commuters that vehicles with valid University parking permits for all but east campus lots will be allowed to park in the lot designated on the parking permit at no cost on Seahawk game days. Those who have permits for east campus lots may park in any parking area designated for University business.
UW Parking Services is not handling parking for Seahawks games. Contact the Seahawks directly for game and parking information via the Seahawks' Transportation Hotline number at 1-800-981-6465 or their Web site, http://www.seahawks.com. However, anyone who experiences a parking problem during a Seahawk game should provide details to UW Parking Services via e-mail at parking@u.washington.eduor write to Parking Services, 3901 University Way N.E., Seattle, WA 98105-6613.
