Brian Kuest, the University Week mystery phoXto contest winner for fall quarter, holds the photo he correctly identified while standing on site - under the ramp to the Faculty Club. Kuest, a program coordinator at Hall Health, correctly identified several photos during the quarter and was the winner of a University Book Store gift certificate after his name was drawn from all the winners.

Surgery Pavilion construction hits bottom, heading upward Even with the heavy rains this winter, progress on the new Surgery Pavilion for UW Medical Center has been steady. Excavation for the three underground floors of parking is now complete and the construction crane is in place, with concrete pouring beginning. The new building, which will provide space for new operating rooms and ambulatory surgery services, is scheduled to be complete in fall of 2003. The photo at left was taken with a wide-angle lens.
