Your help in process is a source of pride

Dear Friends:

Richard L. McCormick

On behalf of the University of Washington, I want to thank you for your interest and support over the past three years as we developed the new master plan for the University of Washington campus. We are pleased to announce that the final University of Washington Campus Master Plan has been submitted to the City of Seattle for final review and approval, and we hope to begin implementing the plan by next summer.

The master plan will guide the University's physical growth for the life of the plan as the University strives to accommodate the increasing enrollment demand. It is our desire to preserve the beauty of the campus and minimize the impacts on the community as we respond to dynamic changes in the educational and research environment.

We are especially proud of this new master plan because of the participation and input we received from our campus and neighborhood communities. Throughout the planning process, we worked closely with the community to create a plan that would support the future growth of the University while addressing the needs and concerns of the community.

The Campus Master Plan and Final Environmental Impact Statement can be viewed on the project Web site, http://www.washington.edu/community/cmp/cmp.html. For a copy of the master plan and environmental impact statement, please call (206) 221-4183.

Again, thank you for your participation in developing the vision for the future of the University of Washington campus.

Sincerely yours,

Richard L. McCormick

President
