Maggie studied physics for her undergraduate degree at Amherst College, but wasn’t properly introduced to the fascinating field of environmental fluid mechanics until getting her M.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the UC-Berkeley. After several years working as a consultant for an environmental engineering company specializing in stream restoration, Maggie entered the PhD program in the Civil and Environmental Engineering department at the University of Washington. She is currently studying contaminated sediment transport in the Duwamish River estuary.
