He has an M.S.E. in Civil &amp; Environmental Engineering from the University of Washington and a B.S. in Computer Engineering from Syracuse University. Before coming to UW he was a hydrologist at the U.S. Geological Survey. His research focuses primarily on sediment transport in tidally influenced fluvial and coastal environments.
