Clinical, Research and/or Teaching Responsibilities

Brian E. Saelens, PhD, is a health psychologist and professor of pediatrics and psychiatry and behavioral sciences at Seattle’s Children’s Hospital and the University of Washington. 

He was previously assistant professor of pediatrics in the Division of Behavioral Medicine and Clinical Psychology at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. Saelens completed a postdoctoral fellowship at San Diego State University and received his clinical/health psychology doctoral degree at the State University of New York at Buffalo, after attending Cornell University as an undergraduate. 

He is an author on over 100 publications in peer-reviewed journals. His research has been supported by grant funding from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, USDA and the National Institutes of Health.
