Clinical, Research and/or Teaching Responsibilities

Jim Stout leads the Interactive Medical Training Resources (iMTR) group. With collaborators, iMTR develops, evaluates, and disseminates online resources for remote training and feedback, with a current focus on implementing diagnostic spirometry in primary care offices (see www.spirometrytraining.org). He also is a co-founder of the National Initiative for Children’s Healthcare Quality (NICHQ), a non-profit organization headquartered in Boston. He works on local, national, and international projects with the common aim of improving the quality of health care. Dr. Stout is a pediatrician at Odessa Brown Children's Clinic (OBCC), a satellite of Seattle Children's Hospital. Since 1994 he has had a general practice at OBCC with a focus on asthma, and provides direction for its chronic illness programs.
