Dr. Lion is a Pediatric Quality of Care Research Fellow at the University of Washington/Seattle Children's Hospital. Her current research focus is on measuring the impact of hospital-based quality improvement activities and decreasing health care disparities via a quality improvement framework. She is particularly interested in understanding and decreasing barriers to high-quality inpatient care for patients and families with limited English proficiency. Her clinical responsibilities include caring for hospitalized children and supervising residents at Seattle Children's Hospital and the University of Washington Pediatric Care Center.
Dr. Lion's undergraduate degree was in English from Princeton University, and she attended medical school at the University of California, San Francisco. Her interest in health care disparities and improving health care for children in low-resource settings prompted her to pursue a Master in Public Health degree at the University of California, Berkeley. She completed her residency training in pediatrics at the University of Washington in 2010.
