The Department of Germanics awards three $15,000 Max Kade Fellowships to qualified students each year. The department provides a minimum of five years of support towards the Ph.D. to those students who first enter the program with a BA and four years of support to those who first enter with an MA.

Kade fellows have their tuition paid by the Graduate School, but are responsible for operational and tech fees of approximately $217 per quarter.
