Sunday, June 7: Ethnic Cultural Theater, 3931 Brooklyn Ave NE, 3:30 p.m., Delta Phi Alpha celebration and initiation of new members to be followed by the second showing of Gryphius's "Absurda Comica or Herr Peter Squenz" at 4:30 p.m.
Monday, June 8, and Tuesday, June 9, from 9:00-12:00 and 1:30-4:00 the
graduate students from Rick Gray's seminar on narrative fiction are
presenting their papers at a conference on "Narrative and the 'I' of the
Beholder" in the Rey Library. You can find a schedule and more detailed
information on our home page
http://depts.washington.edu/uwgerman/index.html.
If you click on our home page
http://depts.washington.edu/uwgerman/index.html you will also be able to
read our latest newsletter with updates about our spring visitors and
graduate students, Eric Ames's new publication, Joe Voyles's retirement, and other news from Germanics.
On Saturday, June 13, 10:00-12:00 we celebrate our departmental convocation in Communications 120 with a reception to follow in the Humanities Center.
With this newsletter, I will take a leave for the summer and wish everyone
happy travels. You will hear from me again in the fall.
Viele Grüße,
