{"id":1031,"date":"2019-11-22T08:47:36","date_gmt":"2019-11-22T16:47:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/depts.washington.edu\/uwgrad\/?p=1031"},"modified":"2019-11-22T08:47:36","modified_gmt":"2019-11-22T16:47:36","slug":"2019-2020-update-to-masters-request-deadlines","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/depts.washington.edu\/uwgrad\/2019\/11\/2019-2020-update-to-masters-request-deadlines\/","title":{"rendered":"2019-2020: Update to Master&#8217;s Request Deadlines"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>GEMS and CAIR have just released a new update to the <a href=\"https:\/\/webapps.grad.uw.edu\/student\/mastapp.aspx\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Master&#8217;s degree request<\/a>, which sets the deadline to file a Master&#8217;s request as the last day of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washington.edu\/students\/reg\/1920cal.html#Q2\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">academic quarter<\/a> (the last day of finals week). <\/p>\n<p>Previously, the Master&#8217;s request deadline was set as the last day of <em>instruction<\/em>, which created confusion for some students. Our intention in moving this deadline out a week is to give eligible students as much time as possible to request their Master&#8217;s degree. <\/p>\n<p>The Master&#8217;s request deadline is now the same as the deadline for submitting a thesis or dissertation and the reading committee approval forms.
