We\u2019re excited to share our new and improved thesis\/dissertation and graduation web pages. We believe these updates will assist your students as they prepare to graduate.<\/p>\n

You may have already noticed some website restructuring on the Graduate School<\/a>‘s\u00a0Students & Postdocs tab.\u00a0Please review the new \u201c Degree Requirements<\/a>” link. Within this section, you\u2019ll find \u201cThesis\/Dissertation Information<\/strong>,” \u201cDates and Deadlines<\/strong>\u201d and \u201cPolicies and Procedures<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n

Updates to Thesis\/Dissertation Information<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

The information flow and framework of the pages has changed! This means some pages have been renamed, and duplicated and obsolete information has been updated or removed.<\/li>\n

The standalone page \u201cPolicy for Deposit and Dissemination of Master\u2019s Theses and Doctoral Dissertations\u201d was removed. The policy has instead been integrated to the main Thesis\/Dissertation page. If you previously linked to that page, please redirect any external links to http:\/\/grad.uw.edu\/for-students-and-post-docs\/thesisdissertation\/<\/a><\/li>\n

This page has information relevant to all graduating students<\/em>, not just those submitting ETDs. Consider referring your students to this information even if they don\u2019t have a thesis or dissertation requirement. We\u2019ve also created three graduation checklists: thesis master\u2019s<\/a>, non-thesis master\u2019s<\/a>, and doctoral students<\/a>. These are displayed on the website and as one-page PDFs graduation checklists.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n

We have updated the instructions and language on the page, our template files, and provided new formatting resources including fillable PDF title page templates and comprehensive \u201cdo\u2019s and don\u2019ts\u201d of ETD formatting<\/a>– a guide which addresses our most common revisions requested. A PDF version of the checklist is available, too.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
Access Options for Electronic Theses and Dissertations (ETDs)<\/a> has been updated to a more streamlined chart created by our partners in the UW Libraries. This chart will help clarify and inform students as they consider which publication access option is best suited for their work.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
