Thomas Trumble, MD

Dr. Trumble has practiced at the University of Washington for over two decades. He completed his medical school at Yale University School of Medicine. He completed an orthopaedic residency program at Yale University New Haven Hospital. He went on to complete an advance training in microsurgery and hand at Duke University in 1984 and training in hand and reconstructive surgery at Harvard University at Massachusetts General Hospital in 1985. Dr. Trumble is Chief of the Hand Surgery Service at the University of Washington. He provides care for patients at the University of Washington Medical Center, Harborview Medical Center (Level I Trauma Center for the state of Washington), Children's Hospital and Medical Center, Veteran's Medical Center and Overlake Hospital. He cares for patients with problems related to the hand, elbow, and shoulder. He has special interest in minimally invasive surgery, including endoscopic carpal tunnel surgery, arthroscopic care for the wrist, elbow, and shoulder, as well as microsurgery. His research has help to pioneer advances in the treatment of nerve injuries, fractures of the hand and upper extremity as well as the repair of tendon injuries. He has authored over 100 articles and chapters and has written and edited 5 textbooks. His recent book publications include:
