The U.S. and Soviet Union were neck-and-neck in a "space race." The U.S. saw education as key to winning the race.

Universities across the country established honors programs to answer the call.

Including the University of Washington Honors Program.

The Cold War ended before today's freshmen were born.

The UW Honors Program has graduated over 8,000 students.

Honors alumni, students, campus partners and friends converge to celebrate the past, present, and future of the thriving UW Honors Program.
