Who can apply?
Transfer students who have been admitted to the UW and have either participated in honors programs at their previous institution or who have strong college academic records are eligible to apply to Interdisciplinary Honors. Students are not eligible if they have earned an Associates degree or satisfied the UW's Areas of Knowledge general education requirements.
Instead, transfer students who have completed the majority of their UW General Education requirements or who have earned an Associates degree may be interested in pursing Departmental Honors within their chosen field. Students are encouraged to meet with an Honors adviser to determine which Honors track is right for them, and for help connecting with an appropriate Departmental Honors adviser to discuss admission.
How to Apply
Once admitted to the UW, transfer students should complete the online application. In addition to this application, we will review your entire UW transfer application when making our decision, and may contact you for a follow-up interview (in-person or via phone). Applications are due by 5pm on the Monday prior to the start of each academic quarter.
If admitted to Interdisciplinary Honors, Honors credit can be given for Honors courses completed at other schools on a case-by-case basis and at the discretion of the UW Honors Program adviser; no more than 15 credits of transfer Honors coursework may apply to the Interdisciplinary Honors Core.
