Year at UW: Fourth

About me: HI! My name is Katya and I am double majoring in Anthropology of Globalization and Near Eastern Cultures and Civilizations. I have transferred to UW from a community college a year go and now finishing up and trying to complete both of my majors with Honors. Its a lot of work to get through all the "theory" material for your project, that is why it is important to be genuinely involved and even passionate about what you try to research about, otherwise you will just go crazy. A little bit about myself. I am 22, I was born and raised in Uzbekistan, my native language is Russian and now I am trying to add Turkish to the list of languages I am proficient in. My honors thesis for Anthropology is concentrating on the National Identity of the Linguistically Russified non-Russian youth in Uzbekistan, where I have conducted my research this past summer. My NELC Honors thesis will also concentrate on youth culture in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
