Year at UW: Second
Hometown: Issaquah, WA
About me: Hi y'all! My name is Hunter Sapienza and I'm a sophomore in the Interdisciplinary Honors Program. Currently, my major is mathematics and environmental studies, but I switch so often that tomorrow I'll probably be studying underwater basket-weaving, so who knows where I will actually end up! My college experience has been a blast and I am so grateful for the incredible Honors community. Outside class, I enjoy running, yoga, hiking, and reading in my spare time. I'm an avid outdoors enthusiast and try to spend every spare moment outside, be it training for some crazy race, hiking to surreal locations across Washington State, or simply exploring the streets of Seattle! I think peanut butter is the food of the gods, and on a typical day you can usually find me browsing the aisles of the local Trader Joe's. I love traveling and was so fortunate to study in Rome last summer with fellow Honors students, many of whom are now my best friends. While I am still exploring the overwhelming number of opportunities for my future, I hope to pursue a career in education, possibly as a high school math teacher. At any other given moment during the week, you may find me warming up in the Hub's fireplace lounge, browsing intellectually-stimulating Buzzfeed articles, or searching for my next Insta photo with a chai tea latte in hand! I'm super excited to be a peer mentor and share my experiences as an Honors student with you all so don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions!
