Year at UW: Third
Hometown: Tacoma, WA
About me: Hi there, I'm in my third year at UW and I'm about to graduate in December. I love to read, bake, cook, be outside, sail, ski, and hike. In high school I was a part of my school's robotics team, Social Justice club, and a couple of other organizations, but I spent most of my time working with a volunteer organization called Amigos de las Americas. After training throughout sophomore year for spending a summer living in rural Latin America, I spent eight weeks in Peru on summer, helped train the new volunteers the next year, and then spent eight weeks in rural Mexico. The experiences I've had living with people completely different than me have been truly transformative. I currently have an internship that I love at an international development organization. I've taken a variety of honors, international studies, and econ classes, along with interning at a local non-profit and working at the Center for AIDS Research at UW. Last summer I supervised high school volunteers with Amigos in the Dominican Republic. I just got back from Japan for a one-week, whirlwind tour with a group of UW students. I'd love to answer your questions about classes, majors, UW, and anything else!
