Year at UW: Fourth

About me: My academic journey has been quite the roller coaster ride, beginning in architecture and ending up in the biological sciences. As a freshman I drifted between disciplines, and ultimately decided to concentrate on biology and Spanish after having an incredible introductory biology professor and memorable study abroad experience in Ecuador. An internship working with the physical rehabilitation of injured UW athletes, as well as physician shadowing and a volunteer experience in Panama with Global Medical Brigades sparked an interest in medicine, while volunteering and working with the UW Dream Project (a college access program that works in local high schools) drew me to education. After college I hope to combine all of these interests and work in the public health and medical fields, and continue to fight for education equality for all students. In the meantime, when I'm not studying you can find me pounding the pavement on runs (frequently in outrageous costumes), playing intramural sports at the IMA, enjoying local snow on skis, cheering on my beloved Husky athletes, scheming up trips to obscure destinations, or serving up food at a local Veggie Grill. Let me know if you have any questions, no matter how big or how small!
