Year at UW: Fourth

About me: As a senior in Bioengineering, I spend way more time than I'd like to admit on classes and as a researcher for the Bioengineering Department's Thomas Lab, which studies protein mechanics. Currently, I am helping design and implement a pretty awesome magnetic tweezer assay to examine the mechanical properties of VWF--a protein that plays a major role in strokes and heart attacks. Outside of school, my hobbies include playing music, traveling, sporting, going out with friends, and doing all the other stuff listed in the Activities section below. In addition to doing well in school, my goals while at UW include publishing papers of my research, being awarded the Bonderman Fellowship, and continuously developing experience in teaching and leadership. I look forward to meeting some of you in my Honors 100 section this Autumn! After graduating, I hope to travel and work abroad as an engineer/researcher for a few years. After that, I intend to pursue an MD and/or PhD in some cool field that is to be determined, which I would ideally go on to teach as a professor. Please feel free to send me your questions about anything and everything!
