Year at UW: Fourth

Hometown: Honolulu

Gender: female

About me: Hello! My name is Kaitlyn (Katie) Tom and I am a senior at the UW. Originally from Honolulu, Hawaii, coming to Seattle and becoming a part of the Honors and broader UW community has been one of the best decisions that I have ever made. A General Biology major, I hope to pursue a career in dentistry after I graduate. Outside of schoolwork, I currently volunteer at the UW Medical Center within the Arts in Healing Program and am an active member of various pre-health, service, and outdoors clubs on campus. Also interested in research, I conducted literature research on dental local anesthesia at the UW School of Dentistry for 2 years and am now working in a genetics lab. If you want to know more about pre-health courses, research, volunteering, the Honors Program, UW student life, or have any other questions, feel free to contact me! I'd be more than happy to answer any questions that you might have!
