This page outlines the two options available to our current students who entered the UW Honors Program before Autumn Quarter, 2010.
If you entered the UW Honors Program before Autumn Quarter, 2010, we believe that the former Honors core curriculum is the best option for you and strongly recommend that you stay with the plan you developed when you entered. However, if you are interested in the new curriculum changes, you may be able to complete the new Honors degree requirements with careful planning.
Option 1 for current students - Keep current requirements
If you plan to continue with and complete the old Honors core requirements (pre-Autumn Quarter 2010), it is important to know how the new course numbers will translate to your requirements.
The box below explains how the new course numbers and categories translate to the old Honors core curriculum categories.
Note that because of the curricular changes, the Honors seminars are being phased out. You will almost certainly need to complete the seminar requirement via an ad hoc course. Please see an Honors adviser for how to complete an ad hoc course.

Option 2 for current students - Adopt new requirements
If you are interested in pursuing the new Honors curriculum (beginning Autumn Quarter 2010), you will need to meet with an Honors advisor to discuss how your previous Honors credits will transfer to the new core requirements.
The box below explains what categories in the new curriculum the old course offerings can count for.
Please note that you MUST complete HONORS 100, HONORS 496, two experiential learning projects, and the Honors portfolio project in order to complete the new Honors core curriculum. HONORS 100 is only offered in the Autumn Quarter and HONORS 496 will not be offered regularly until 2011-12.
