HSA Welcomes Cris Cruz as Payroll Coordinator

Cris Cruz joined the HSA team in late October as the Payroll Coordinator. Cris has 10 years of payroll experience at Harborview Medical Center, and 4 years of accounting and accounts payable experience with the Seattle Times. His extensive knowledge of the many payroll systems used at UW will be a great asset to our HSA team. Please join Health Sciences Administration in welcoming Cris Cruz to his new role in the UW. Cris shared a bit about himself during his first week in the office:

How long have you worked at the UW?

10 years combined, all basically payroll 7 years with Harborview payroll and 3 years at parking and security.

What interests you about payroll work?

Money! Who doesn’t want money, right? Other interests include the payroll cycle, and making sure wages are paid properly.

What does a good day at work look like to you?
When I get things done, especially payroll tasks. When I accomplish tasks.

What’s your favorite thing to do on Sundays?
Relax and watch sports.

How long have you lived in Washington?
Since 1987, almost 30 years now, since immigrating from the Philippines.

What’s the best part about living in the Pacific Northwest?
The cloudy weather, and fresh air.
