New Attending Veterinarian Kim Stocking

Health Sciences Administration is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Kim Stocking as Attending Veterinarian and Director, Office of Animal Welfare. This is a new role combining responsibilities in a way that makes sense for the University. In her role, Kim will provide veterinary oversight and support for the animal care, use, and welfare at the University of Washington supporting the highly successful biomedical research program. Kim brings extensive knowledge and experience to the role, most recently serving as a Veterinary reviewer at the UW. Kim previously served as the Director and Attending Veterinarian, Office of Animal Care at Seattle Children’s Research Institute and prior to that was the Director, Preclinical – Department of Comparative Animal Research at Amgen.

This new role serves to fill positions that have been supported by Thea Brabb who has been appointed Chair, Department of Comparative Medicine and Sally Thompson-Iritani who has been appointed Associate Director, Washington National Primate Research Center. Thank you to both Thea and Sally for their tremendous work and continued support during our search process.

Come and meet Dr. Kim Stocking, the new Attending Veterinary (AV) and Director of the Office of Animal Welfare (OAW)!
