Quellos High Throughput Screening Core

Fee Explanations

All Screens
Indicated costs are derived by the Quellos High Throughput Screening (QHTS) Core covering staff, training, materials, libraries and equipment usage. All Indicated costs are estimates based on typical siRNA or chemical modulation assay development, training, time and materials. Clients are expected to cover all overruns in estimated costs, supply personnel/labor and purchase disposable lab ware for their actual screens based on the QHTS Core Staff's recommendations. Typically, total screening costs (Core + supplies) will range an additional 35% higher than the QHTS Core charges. Development/Optimization costs will vary on the extent of the work necessary to complete development and transfer of the assay to QHTS Core's instrumentation.

RNA Interference
Currently, pilot screens are available for the human or mouse kinase genome entailing approximately 1,000 genes. Full siRNA screens will be available later in the year 2009 covering the entire “druggable” genome in human and mouse (approximately 10,000 genes).

Chemical (Small Molecules)
Presently, the small molecule library contains over 115,000 separate chemical entities. QHTS Core’s Informer Screen entails a 50K compound diversity screen covering all known chemical/biological space based on 3D pharmacophore analysis. The QHTS Core’s Secondary Screen entails a variable number of hand-selected, cherry-picked compounds from the remainder of the QHTS Core’s small molecule library based on similarity analysis to hits from previous (i.e., ideally, an Informer Screen) screening activities.
