Kendra AbernathyKendra Abernathy

Kendra Abernathy is beginning her junior year at the University of Washington, where she is pursuing degrees in journalism and comparative history of ideas. In the future, Kendra plans to pursue a career in investigative journalism or continue her education with a focus in communication or law. Kendra is a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority and in her free time she enjoys traveling, reading and spending time with her family and friends.

Stephanie Birch

Stephanie Birch was born in Seattle, Washington on November 18th, 1988. Ever since birth, she has always excelled in education. She skipped junior and senior years of high school and attended Cascadia Community College. By the time she graduated from Bothell High School in 2007, she earned enough credits to receive an Associates Degree. In the fall of 2007, Stephanie entered the University of Washington as a junior. Currently, Stephanie is majoring in journalism as well as political science. After she graduates in June, Stephanie plans to either pursue a career in broadcast journalism or attend law school.

 

Leah GohringJames Brown

James Brown is a senior at the University of Washington, where he’s pursuing degrees in journalism and creative writing. Brown has interned for Paradigm Communications Group, where he wrote articles for Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air’s in-flight magazines. He currently works at the UW’s Executive MBA program and is the fiction editor of Bricolage, the English department’s literary journal.

Christian Caple

Christian Caple is a junior at the University of Washington majoring in journalism. He is in his second year as the football and men’s basketball beat reporter for The Daily, and is in his third year covering softball. His reporting travels have taken him to all kinds of exotic locations, including Corvallis and Tucson, and he is a connoisseur of cheap, poorly-located hotels in college towns.

 

Nina HuangNicole Ciridon

Nicole Ciridon is a junior at the University of Washington.  An Editorial Journalism major, Miss Ciridon is the Sub-Editor Assistant and a reporter for The Daily, as well as a freelance reporter for the Student Health magazine.  She enjoys dancing, blogging and volunteering for her sorority during her free time.

 

Celia HunkoSara Cox

Sarah Cox is a junior journalism and political science student at the University of Washington.  In her spare time, she enjoys reading, participating in the Greek Community, and following politics.  She hopes to attend law school after obtaining her undergraduate degrees.

 

Milo Johnson-AndersonAdam Euker

Adam Eucker is a junior at the University of Washington, where he is majoring in Journalism.  Eucker is currently a member of the Beta Theta Pi Fraternity and hopes to pursue a career in journalism in the future.

 

Emily KimNick Feldman

Nick Feldman is a student and freelance journalist living in Seattle, Washington and studying at the University of Washington. He has been writing for over five years in a number of journalistic capacities, and has been shooting photos for nearly two. Past clients and employers include Seattle Weekly, Northwest Riders, Blend Magazine and others. Nick is a self-proclaimed "music addict," tennis player, active political observer and brother of Theta Delta Chi International Fraternity.

William MariAnusha Ghosh Roy

Anusha Ghosh Roy is a junior at the University of Washington, where she is majoring in journalism and working towards a minor in international affairs. She intends to enter broadcast journalism. She has interned with New Delhi Television, a national English news channel in India, Seattletimes.com and is currently interning with KIRO TV. She is also a reporter for The HuskyCast, the University of Washington’s online webcast.

Devon MillsMaks Goldenshteyn

Maks Goldenshteyn is a University of Washington junior pursuing a degree in journalism. Maks has worked for The Daily of the UW since his first quarter in college, and along with producing online video content for The Daily, is currently interning at KING 5. He hopes to either work in the television news industry, or for the NBA in some capacity.

 

Elizabeth MortensonMichael Jeremiah

Michael Jeremiah is a junior at the University of Washington studying journalism and political science.  He is originally from Washington D.C., and splits his love for sports between the Puget sound region’s teams and those from the beltway. 

 

Lauren PalmerNikolaj Lasbo

Nikolaj Lasbo is a Junior at the University of Washington majoring in Journalism and European Studies, minoring in program on the environment. He works at the Daily as the environmental beat reporter, features writer and photographer. Nikolaj is passionate about traveling—having traversed South Asia three times, from Thailand to Pakistan—and is planning to live in denmark for nine months starting in December.

Noelle RiveraHosen Lin

Honsen Lin is a senior at the University of Washington, double majoring in conservation biology and journalism. He works for The Daily at the University of Washington as a sports reporter. He is a big fan of most Bay Area professional sports teams and he manages his football teams when he is not busy with schoolwork or writing.

 

Rebecca Livingston

Rebecca Livingston is a Junior at the University of Washington where she is majoring in Journalism and minoring in Comparative Literature.  Once she graduates from the UW, she plans to attend art school for Photography and Graphic Design. 

 

Mehgan SellersJulian Martin

Julian Martin is a senior at the University of Washington, where he is majoring in journalism and diversity. Martin has worked as the Arts Editor on both Green River Community College and the University of Washington student newspapers. He is currently a reporter for the UW student newspaper, The Daily.

 

Stephanie SmallKatie McVicker

Katie McVicker is a journalism major at the University of Washington.  When she’s not gathering information for her posts, Katie enjoys spending time with her friends, shopping and running.  Katie would like to work as an editor for a women’s magazine after she graduates.

 

Lydia SpragueKatie Stapleton-Paff

Katie is a senior at the University of Washington, studying Journalism and due to graduate in Spring 2009. Her journalism experience thus far includes four years as a reporter for the UW Daily (including a stint as A&E editor), internships at the Puget Sound Business Journal, MSNBC (in NYC) and The Hill (in Washington DC) as well as freelancing for various publications in Seattle and DC. She hopes to move back to the nation’s capitol and pursue a career in political reporting.

Katie UtehsNick Trost

Nicholas Trost is a junior at the University of Washington pursuing a double major in Journalism and Spanish. He has interned at KRQE News 13 in Albuquerque, New Mexico and now has a job working at KIRO 7 Eyewitness News as a web content editor for Kirotv.com. Nick is an identical twin and loves playing golf in his free time.


Jennifer WareMolly Waldron

Molly Waldron is a junior at the University of Washington majoring in journalism. She works for the Seattle Mariners year round in the Ballpark Operations Department. She plans to pursue a career in public relations for a large business or sports team. Molly is currently involved with the UW Dream Project mentoring minority and first generation high school students through the college admissions process. Her always busy life is fueled by coffee.

Jennifer WareSue Yang

Sue Yang is a senior at the University of Washington. Majoring in journalism, she wants to pursue a career in documentary film. Currently reporting for the UW Daily, she hopes to some day report about culture and society for publications such as COLORS Magazine.
