School of Pharmacy
The School of Pharmacy prepares graduate and postgraduate students to provide leadership in scholarship and practice of pharmaceutical care. Programs leading to the Pharm.D. and associated specialty residencies enroll approximately 300 students. Master of Science and PhD degree programs in Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, and Pharmaceutical Outcomes Research and Policy have approximately 60 students and train some 20 postdoctoral fellows. The School is fifth among 80 schools of pharmacy in total research support, and first in support per faculty FTE. It is home to a longstanding NIH Program-Project Grant in Drug Interactions and has a NIGMS predoctoral Training Grant in the Pharmacological Sciences. The schoolís research in drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics is considered a leading program in drug development sciences in the U.S. In addition, the Pharmaceutical Outcomes Research and Policy Program serves PhD and postdoctoral students interested in medical technology assessment, pharmacoepidemiology, and drug policy research.
