The VA Puget Sound
The VA Puget Sound Health Care System is closely affiliated with UW. Its 151 active investigators are faculty members, with over $28 million in NIH and DVA funding, much of it for clinically oriented research. Among its Center Grants are the Epidemiology Research Information Center (ERIC), Mental Illness Research, Education and Clinical Center (MIRECC), the Research Enhancement Award Program (REAP) in neurogenetics and diabetes, the Rehabilitation Research and Development Center of Excellence (RR & D), the Geriatric Research, Education and Clinical Center (GRECC), the Northwest Center for Outcomes Research in Older Adults (a Health Services Research and Development Center), the Center of Excellence for Substance Abuse Treatment and Education (CESATE), the Northwest Hepatitis C Field-Based Resource Center, and the Multiple Sclerosis Center of Excellence.
