The 2008-2009 McNair Scholar Program application process is now open.

If you have not affiliated with EIP, please do so (see http://depts.washington.edu/eip for details).

Applications

Applications for 2009-2010 will be due in Spring, 2009. Please continue to check this site for details on application availability and due dates.

Application packets are available at the McNair Program offices at:
375 Schmitz Hall

Interested students must come in person to speak with a McNair Graduate Advisor and pick up an application. We do not send applications in the mail, over e-mail, or on the web.

A completed application consists of:

• A completed application form
• Statement of purpose
• One copy of your college transcripts from all institutions attended, including UW (unofficial copy okay)
• A copy of your income tax form from the previous year
• A copy of your financial award letter
• One or two letters of recommendation (at least one must be from a faculty member) depending on year in school
• A writing sample of at least two pages that was completed within the last year (e.g., a final paper from a course)
